Mrs Tan was a former school English teacher and a former Lecturer in adult learning. Enjoying both learning and teaching, Mrs Tan looks forward to each lesson as the chance to illumine each of the young minds in her classes. She believes that her role as an English language teacher is to spread the joy of learning English to her students. She encourages student participation and involvement through activities such as one-minute speech and spontaneous class discussions. Students are encouraged to develop the reading habit through creative book projects and book loans. Newspaper cuttings, storybooks, poetry and word games are used abundantly in her lessons, making English relevant, alive and joyful to her students.
